Ally McCoist expresses sadness over Raul Jimenez’s decline at Wolves
Ally McCoist described Wolves striker Raul Jimenez’s recent struggles as a “real disappointment for everyone.”

The 31-year-old was again left out of Wolves’ matchday squad for Tuesday night’s game against Crystal Palace.
Jimenez has not played for Wolves since the 0-0 draw against Bournemouth at the end of August.

He’s only made four appearances in 2022/23 and has struggled with fitness since the end of preseason.

He entered the new season with a knee and adductor injury.

He has recently struggled with pubalgia and is currently undergoing tests in his native Mexico.

It has been reported that a more accurate diagnosis will be provided by the end of the month.
According to reports, Jimenez is running out of time to be ready for Mexico’s World Cup.

Tata Martino, the national team coach, appeared concerned during a recent press conference when asked about the Wolves star.

When Diego Costa was substituted for Hwang Hee-chan in Wolves’ game against Crystal Palace on Tuesday, the conversation turned to Jimenez.

On co-commentary for Amazon Prime, McCoist stated (1:23:20): “It’s a real disappointment for everybody – all football fans.”

“He was on top of his game prior to the injury. I’ll tell you right now: he was outstanding. Running on all cylinders.

“Obviously, it was great to see him return. He did not quite reach the heights he had before his injury, which is understandable.

“But all you want is for him to resume playing at the level we know he is capable of.”

It is sad to see Raul Jimenez’s situation at Wolves unfold.
Jimenez’s head injury was extremely traumatic.
It will always be a shame that such an accident occurred, because, as McCoist points out, Jimenez was simply the best prior to his injury.

He was unquestionably one of the best all-round number nines in the Premier League.

Jimenez is currently recovering from a groin injury, so he is unable to assist the Wolves in their time of greatest need.

Fans hope that he will one day return to his former glory. However, nearly two years after the horrendous incident at Emirates Stadium, many people are losing hope that this will happen.
