Jorge Polanco, a Twins player, has been suspended for 80 games for using PEDs.
Minnesota Twins’ shortstop Jorge Polanco has been suspended for 80 games after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance.

According to a statement from the MLB, Polanco tested positive for Stanozolol on Sunday, violating Major League Baseball’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Major League Baseball announced that Polanco’s suspension will begin at the start of the season, which begins later this month.

The Twins tweeted a statement Sunday afternoon:

In a statement released by the players’ union, Polanco said he did not “intentionally consume this steroid.”

Polanco stated that he requested a substance from his athletic trainer in the Dominican Republic, but was given something else.

Polanco has been with the Twins since 2014. Last season, he hit.256 with 13 homers and 74 RBIs.
