Thunder signs Mike Muscala to return to Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City (KOKH) — The Oklahoma City Thunder have signed Mike Muscala.

Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti confirmed on Saturday that the team had signed the forward/center player.

Muscala is returning to Oklahoma City after playing four seasons for the Thunder from 2019 to 2023.

He appeared in 168 Thunder games, making seven starts, averaging 7.0 points on 39.2% three-point shooting and 3.0 rebounds in 14.5 minutes per game.

Muscala is in his 11th NBA season and was selected 44th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft.


In 532 games, he has averaged 6.0 points and 3.2 rebounds while playing 15.3 minutes per game.

Muscala will return to the Thunder a year after being traded.

After being waived by the Detroit Pistons, Mike Muscala has found a new team.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Muscala will join the Oklahoma City Thunder for the remainder of the season.

The 32-year-old big man had already been with the Thunder for more than three seasons, from 2019 to early 2023, when he was traded to Boston Celtics.

Muscala averaged 3.8 points and 2.8 rebounds in 37 games with the Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons. Over the course of his 11-year career, he has maintained higher averages of 6 points and 3.2 rebounds.

With 41 wins and 18 losses, the Thunder are currently ranked second in the Western Conference.
