The Wolves have announced the departure of six players.
Warrington Wolves have confirmed the departure of six first-team players at the end of the 2022 season.

Captain Jack Hughes, Gareth Widdop, Matt Davis, Robbie Mulhern, Jason Clark, and Kyle Amor will all leave the club after their current contracts expire.

Hughes captained the team to Challenge Cup victory in 2019, famously filling in at stand-off against St Helens at Wembley Stadium, and has made 169 appearances for the club since joining in 2016. He has been out for four months after undergoing surgery for a shoulder injury, but he could play in the club’s final three games of the season.

Widdop has 20 tries in 49 appearances over his three years with the club and was named Ken Kelly Player of the Year after an outstanding season in 2021. He has been sidelined for several weeks with a shoulder injury, but he could return before the end of the season.

Davis has made 62 appearances in the primrose and blue over four seasons, joining from the London Broncos in 2019. He was a member of the winning Challenge Cup team that same year.

Mulhern will leave the Wire after two seasons, having appeared in 45 games, including 19 starts this season.

Clark’s signing with French side Limoux Grizzlies was announced in June, and he is expected to join his new teammates for the start of the season next month. He leaves after making 82 appearances and winning the Challenge Cup in 2019.

Amor joined on loan from St Helens midway through the season and will join Widnes Vikings in 2023.
A special presentation will be made to the Wolves’ departing players at the conclusion of their final home game against the Castleford Tigers this Thursday evening, and fans can express their gratitude.

Warrington has thanked their departing players for their efforts while at the club and wished them the best of luck in their future careers.
