The biggest and most unexpected present of them all!

THERE are Christmas presents and there are CHRISTMAS PRESENTS – and this is the best one we could ever have hoped to receive.
It’s always been mine and Alex’s dream to extend our family. But like many couples, it’s turned out to be far from easy – there’s been plenty of heartache along the way.
The past decade has been difficult to say the least. During that time we lost two babies. Throughout that period, alongside many doctor and hospital visits, we tried to keep our hope alive that one day all would come good. That dream, that desire, was our everyday currency, until finally, earlier this year, and completely out of the blue, we received the news we had so long wanted. The news which we thought we would never hear.

If I thought we were delighted, then I wasn’t expecting how our son Max felt. He was beyond happy – which in itself made us even more happy. It just went on and on.
A lot has happened to me over the last ten years, but nothing has ever hit me like this. It just proves what I’ve always said – keep trying, keep pushing, keep hoping, and dreams really can become reality.
This is the time of year when we all look forward to being around those we love the most. For each and every one of us that will mean different people for different reasons. What we all have in common though is hope.
I just want to remind people that just when you think hope has disappeared tends to be the exact moment it appears round the next corner.
The best presents don’t all come wrapped in reindeer-covered paper. They come right out of the blue.
