CONFIRMED: AFC Wimbledon confirmed a massive deal of $109 million with…..

Oxford United has agreed to sign a defender from AFC Wimbledon. The South London Press understands that Oxford United has reached an agreement with AFC Wimbledon to sign defender Jack Currie.

Since making his EFL debut in July 2022 under Johnnie Jackson, the 22-year-old has been one of League Two’s most consistent defenders.

Currie, an ex-Eastbourne Borough loanee, has made 95 appearances for the Dons in all competitions and scored five goals.

Wimbledon exercised their option on Currie’s contract at the end of last season to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

Oxford, who have long admired the full-back, won promotion to the Championship last season by defeating Bolton 2-0 at Wembley in the League One play-off final.

The South London Press understands that Lee Brown has rejected a new contract offer from AFC Wimbledon.

Brown made 32 appearances for Johnnie Jackson’s side last season, playing as a centre-back and left-back as the Dons finished 10th in League Two.

He joined the South Londoners from Portsmouth in January 2022 and has appeared in 77 games across all competitions, contributing six assists.

Brown, an ex-Bristol Rovers defender, assisted Ronan Curtis for the late winner in the 1-0 victory over Milton Keynes at Plough Lane in March.

Wimbledon confirmed on their retained list that they intended to offer Brown a new contract after releasing Alex Pearce, Harry Pell, and Paul Kalambayi.

Huseyin Biler has been spotted in training since the Dons returned to pre-season, and our sources say the right-back is set to turn down interest from Turkey to sign a new contract at Plough Lane.
