Warrington Wolves key man reportedly set his exit

In a brilliant round of action that saw four games settled by two points or less, there has sadly been a spate of Super League injuries.

Super League action returned following the brief but much-maligned international break and fans were reminded of exactly what they had missed with five of the six games being competitive affairs, with two of those incredibly going to golden point.

The sole game that wasn’t competitive, Warrington’s 48-0 victory over Huddersfield Giants was ironically Sky Sports’ featured game on Friday night but there was still plenty of skill on display as Sam Burgess’ side rant riot.

Injury fall-out from the international break was major for Castleford Tigers as it saw star signing Sam Wood confirmed as out for the remainder of the season, but Round 16’s six games have seen even more Super League injuries with several sides suffering double and triple blows.

A triple-header on Friday night kicked off the return of Super League and as referenced, Warrington Wolves humiliated Huddersfield Giants in a 48-0 win at The Halliwell Jones Stadium as eight different try-scorers got in on the action.

The fallout from that game has been considerable with Ian Watson lamenting his side’s lack of quality as well as suggesting that players are not currently working hard enough to bridge the quality gap.
