In January 2025, Nico mourned the passing of his former high school teammate, Juan Wilson Jr., who died after a courageous three-year battle following a severe car accident in 2021. The accident, involving a 2010 Nissan Altima carrying three Warren High School athletes, resulted in the loss of Wilson and another teammate, Jaylon Connish. Wilson’s resilience during his recovery left a lasting impact on the community.
NCAA Investigation into NIL Benefits:
The University of Tennessee is under investigation by the NCAA concerning potential violations related to Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) benefits. The inquiry focuses on private flights taken by Iamaleava, with reports suggesting possible Level 1 and Level 2 violations.
