CJ Daniels, former LSU wide receiver, commits to Miami
CJ Daniels is heading from Bayou country to South Florida.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound wide receiver committed to Miami on Wednesday morning, according to his representation. Daniels, who caught 42 passes in what turned out to be his only season at LSU, will have 1 year of eligibility remaining when he joins head coach Mario Cristobal in Coral Gables.
Before he arrived at LSU, Daniels spent 4 years at Liberty from 2020-23. During his entire collegiate career, Daniels has 148 catches for 2,439 yards and 21 touchdowns. He has always had the ability to stretch the field, at Liberty and at LSU, averaging 16.5 yards per catch in his collegiate career.
Daniels enjoyed his best collegiate season in 2023 at Liberty, catching 55 balls for 1,067 yards and 10 touchdowns. Daniels and the Hurricanes hope that’s the kind of production that translates to 2025 when he finishes his college career at Miami. This fall at LSU, Daniels’ numbers dipped, as he only had 480 receiving yards to go with those 42 catches and failed to score a touchdown after finding the end zone 10 times the previous season at Liberty.
Daniels will join a Miami program that will be determined in 2025 to make the College Football Playoff after falling just short this season.
