Tennessee is set to lose a wide receiver to the transfer portal. Kaleb Webb, a former four-star prospect, will test the waters once the window opens on December 9th. Webb ranked inside of the top 200 in the 2022 recruiting cycle.
Webb found a lot of playing time last season as Tennessee worked through a handful of injuries at the position. He caught 16 passes for 166 yards and one touchdown in 2023. However, following the additions of five-star receiver Mike Matthews and big-time transfer Chris Brazzell, Webb’s playing time dwindled.
Webb caught just six passes this season for 48 yards. He played against both UTEP and Vanderbilt after not seeing the field since the Alabama game.
Tennessee has signed two four-star receivers this class — Radarious Jackson and Travis Smith Jr. They join three-star Joakim Dodson. Braylon Staley, a four-star from last year’s class, also figures to be in the mix next season.
Chris Brazzell, Squirrel White and Mike Matthews figure to be the top end of the rotation next season, pending the transfer portal.
Webb joins running back Khalifa Keith and offensive lineman Vysen Lang as portal departures so far.
