Shedeur Sanders Names Most Improved Player For Colorado In 2024

The Colorado Buffaloes College Football Playoff hopes officially came to an end in Week 14 despite a 52-0 blowout win over Oklahoma State. It was the final home game for Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders and many others.

With the regular season coming to an end, Colorado now waits to see who they face in the bowl game. There were a lot of storylines with Colorado once again in Deion Sanders’ second year in Boulder, and Shedeur Sanders was a common name making waves after his successful season.

In the latest episode of the 2Legendary podcast with Shedeur Sanders, the Colorado quarterback presented awards to his teammates. While Travis Hunter took a lot of the awards (and rightfully so), Sanders was asked about the Most Improved Player on Colorado.

“I would say Drelon (Miller),” Sanders said. “Early on, we didn’t really see eye to eye with a couple of things. But we were able to work on, and was able to understand and get that relationship better. Now in key moments he made big plays and was a big part of our offense coming down the stretch.”

Miller is a freshman from Silsbee, Texas, and ended the year with 31 catches for 277 yards and three touchdowns. Against Utah, Miller broke out with six catches for 108 yards and a touchdown in the 49-24 win in Boulder. Miller was a four-star recruit, per 247Sports, and originally committed to Texas A&M before decommitting in October 2023 and eventually ending up in Colorado.

Even with a loaded WR room that included Hunter, LaJohntay Wester, Jimmy Horn Jr. and others, Miller was able to get a rapport with Sanders and has a lot of momentum going into the 2025 season.
