Kyle Shanahan Sends Clear Message to 49ers Locker Room After Confirming Major Absences Including Brock Purdy and Nick Bosa
For the Niners, this season hasn’t been pleasant. It’s more like a rough ride. With a 5-5 win-loss record, they’re sitting in 4th position in the NFC West. If that was bad, brace yourselves for more bad news. HC Kyle Shanahan announced the injury list after the practice on November 22, and his revelations were shocking.
He revealed Nick Bosa and Brock Purdy were out for the week 12 game against the Packers. It came off as a surprise to the fans, the players, and even to the coach himself. OT Trent Williams and OL Jon Feliciano are also questionable. He looked sad and gloomy, but there was a belief inside. While talking to the reporters, he also gave an inspiring message to his locker room.
Highlighting that their team was still strong despite Bosa and Purdy, Kyle Shanahan said, “I know it’s disappointing. We knew there was a chance with Nick. I think the guys were a little surprised with Brock yesterday. But we’re gonna have 48 guys in uniform. I know our guys believe in themselves. I know I believe in them. We’re missing two good players definitely, but we’ve got a lot of good players.” That’s some positivity for the locker room right there.
However, things on the ground wouldn’t be so easy. With 7 wins & 3 losses, the Packers are a tough opponent. The quarterback can be a difference here. While Jordan Love is fit and healthy, Purdy would not be there. This year, Love has a 5-3 win-loss record. There’s one more factor too. Playing at their home, the Lambeau Field, would also give them energy.
While the coach gave the update about week 12 matchup, fans are concerned about Purdy’s future. That’s right, and we found it for you from the coach himself.
Kyle Shanahan gives an update about Brock Purdy’s injury
Things haven’t gone the way they would have liked. But some situations are beyond your control. The HC must be feeling this way. While giving an update about the situation, he revealed that the QB’s MRI didn’t show any serious injury. And they were all fine.
However, when he practiced on Thursday, November 21, he felt excruciating pain in his shoulder. No one expected this. But when the pain crosses the limit, they had to rest him out. Everything about Brock Purdy has been put on hold and will get checked next week now.
Kyle Shanahan was sad while talking about his quarterback as their playoff chances are in danger. Would this be the year when Brock Purdy wouldn’t play in the postseason games or there is a crazy comeback on the cards? That would be amazing if that happens. Fans would go crazy. The league would get more competitive. It would be great!
