SO SAD: Sonny Dykes Announced a Devastating News…

Sonny Dykes announced a couple of additions to TCU’s coaching staff, as the Horned Frogs will bring on former Houston head coach Dana Holgorsen and former Hawaii and Arizona State head coach Todd Graham.

Both coaches will work as analysts and advance scouts for the team.

“They’re talented people that I have known for more than 20 years, who both have been very successful and have a unique perspective,” Dykes said. “They can help us win.”

Dykes also mentioned that they each will work on opposite sides of the ball. The defensively-minded Graham will work with the offense and the offensively-minded Holgorsen will work with the defense, a strategy hoping to show each side of the ball weaknesses they’d attack.

Graham resigned from the Hawaii job in 2021 and has a history with Dykes, serving as an adviser to Dykes at different points during his SMU and TCU tenures. Graham is from the D-FW area and has previously been a head coach at Rice, Tulsa, Pitt, Arizona State and Hawaii.

He also has local high school ties, as he began his coaching career in 1988 as an assistant at Poteet High School and later was Allen’s head coach from 1995-2000.

Holgorsen worked with Dykes at Texas Tech from 2000-06, serving under Mike Leach as offensive assistants. He spent eight years as West Virginia’s head coach before spending the next five years as Houston’s head coach. He was fired from Houston after the 2023 season.
