“I think that is one thing, though, that this team really does have. We don’t – I mean, it’s awesome. I’m so grateful that we have these guys, and they get these awards, but I know these two up here, they’re more concerned with winning and making this run.

Blackwell struck a more humble tone when asked if he felt the same way as Klesmit.

 

“It is what it is,” the former three-star recruit said. “I can’t really – all I can do is go out there and play. I can’t vote for myself. I can’t encourage anybody to vote. It’s just fuel to the fire, youWhile sitting beside Blackwell and unanimous first-team all-conference selection John Tonje, Klesmit forcefully argued that his teammate had been snubbed.

 

In Blackwell’s sophomore campaign, the Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native averaged 16.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.0 steals per game in conference play. Klesmit, however, noted that the Brother Rice High School product has left a mark on their team beyond those impressive numbers.

 

“I think he impacts winning at a really high level, too. I think it goes beyond the stat sheet,” Klesmit boasted.
