
Dawn Staley: A Powerhouse in College Basketball, Honored as 2025 Naismith Coach of the Year
Dawn Staley, the legendary head coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks, has been named the 2025 Naismith Coach of the Year, further cementing her legacy as one of the greatest minds in college basketball. This marks her fourth time receiving the prestigious honor, following previous wins in 2020, 2022, and 2023.
Staley led South Carolina to another dominant season, finishing with a near-perfect record and securing a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Under her leadership, the Gamecocks continued their defensive dominance, suffocating opponents while showcasing an elite, disciplined offense. Her ability to develop players, foster team chemistry, and maintain excellence year after year has set a new standard in women’s basketball.
