Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson opt out: Will Joe Burrow make his first Pro Bowl appearance?
With Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen opting out of the 2025 Pro Bowl Games, the quarterbacks on the AFC roster are the Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Russell Wilson and the New England Patriots’ Drake Maye.
Burrow, receiver Ja’Marr Chase and defensive end Trey Hendrickson were named earlier this month to the AFC roster for the Pro Bowl Games, scheduled for Sunday (February 2) at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
Running back Chase Brown and offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. were selected as alternates.
It was the second Pro Bowl selection of Burrow’s five NFL seasons and first since the 2022 season. In January 2023, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr replaced Burrow on the 2023 AFC Pro Bowl Games roster.
In addition to participating in Sunday’s Flag Game against the NFL, Burrow could take part Thursday in the Skills Show, scheduled to include a competition called “passing the test” in which quarterbacks try to hit targets at various distances around the field worth different point values in 40 seconds.
Before the challenge, each quarterback will select a Pro Bowl Games teammate to answer five trivia questions about current Pro Bowl players. For every correct answer, the quarterback gets an additional 10 seconds. The winner of the competition is the team with the quarterback who scores the most points.
