As the 2025 college football season approaches, Texas A&M fans have much to anticipate under the leadership of head coach Mike Elko. Elko’s inaugural season showcased a promising 8-5 record, highlighted by a significant victory over then No. 9 Missouri, marking the program’s first win over a ranked opponent since 2022.
Offensively, the Aggies will be led by quarterback Marcel Reed, who took over after Conner Weigman’s departure. Reed’s dynamic playmaking abilities were instrumental in key victories last season. To bolster the receiving corps, Texas A&M has added transfers Micah Hudson (Texas Tech), Mario Craver (Mississippi State), and KC Concepcion (North Carolina State), aiming to enhance the aerial attack.
Defensively, the focus will be on improving the secondary, which faced challenges in the previous season. The Aggies have secured former Georgia cornerback Julian Humphrey through the transfer portal and will see the return of cornerback Will Lee III, providing experience and depth to the defensive backfield.
The 2025 schedule presents formidable tests, including road games against Notre Dame, Arkansas, LSU, Missouri, and Texas. These matchups will be critical in determining the Aggies’ pursuit of conference supremacy and a potential berth in the College Football Playoff.
With a blend of returning talent, strategic additions, and a challenging schedule, Texas A&M is poised for an exciting and competitive 2025
season.
