Shocking News: Cameron McJannet Officially Terminates His Contract

Which out-of-contract Grimsby Town players should earn new deals in the summer?

Have your say on which Grimsby Town players should have their contracts extended at the end of the current season

With just over a couple of months remaining in the season, Grimsby Town manager Ian Holloway will soon have to make decisions on which of his players should earn new contracts.

The Mariners have 12 players – not including loanees – whose deals are set to run out this summer.

Those players who will be hoping to earn new contracts include some of the club’s brightest stars, January signings, and youth team graduates.

Here’s a look at which players will be out of contract at the end of the season, and their chances of earning new deals – and you can have your say on which players you think Holloway should keep in the summer…

The former Forest Green stopper has done a sterling job as the Mariners’ goalkeeper coach, and on the odd occasion he’s been called upon, he’s showed he can still do a more than decent job between the sticks.

A new contract for Russell would certainly benefit James McKeown, not to mention Ollie Battersby as the young keeper continues his development.

With the style Holloway has brought since being appointed, Davis looks to be the best-suited among the current options at centre-half to playing the ball out from the back.

There were perhaps a few question marks over whether he’d be staying last summer before the option on his contract was confirmed. We’d like to see him get a new deal, but that might come down to Davis himself.
