Ohio State Lands Projected $1 Million Star QB as Potential Will Howard Replacement
The Ohio State Buckeyes officially have a new quarterback, and the five-star signal-caller could make an impact as soon as 2025. Current starting quarterback Will Howard has already accepted an invite to the 2025 Senior Bowl.
Howard will be looking to impress franchises ahead of the 2025 NFL draft meaning Ohio State will have a new QB1 next season. The Buckeyes already have a deep group of young quarterbacks on the roster.
Devin Brown, Julian Sayin and Lincoln Kienholz are all former highly touted prospects who have a chance to win the starting quarterback job in 2025. Now, these signal-callers will have even more competition with the addition of five-star quarterback Tavien St. Clair.
Ohio State announced St. Clair has officially signed with the Buckeyes, holding firm on his commitment to the program. The Bellefontaine, Ohio native is Rivals.com’s No. 1 ranked overall player in the 2025 class and has a chance to make an impact during his freshman season.
On3.com projects St. Clair’s NIL value to be $1 million, the fourth highest of any player in the 2025 class. The 6-foot-3, 225 pound quarterback is drawing comparisons to former top-10 NFL pick Blaine Gabbert.
“Tavien St. Clair’s physical traits and play style reminds us of Blaine Gabbert at the same stage,” On3.com detailed. “Gabbert was a bit bigger at the same stage.
“Both were big, athletic prospects who excelled in the camp setting. St. Clair was more productive while playing a lower level of competition in high school.”
