Three doubts and international withdrawal: Early Birmingham City team news for Shrewsbury
The latest Birmingham City injury news as the club prepares to play Shrewsbury Town after the international break
Chris Davies has been boosted by a number of Birmingham City players returning from injuries in recent weeks.
The Blues treatment room is emptying and captain Krystian Bielik became the latest player to return to action last time out against Northampton Town. Bielik replaced Ben Davies in the starting line-up after the Rangers loanee suffered an illness in the build-up
Bielik’s return means Blues aren’t far away from a fully fit squad. Lee Buchanan is working his way back to fitness after three-and-a-half months out with calf issues and could return after the international break.
The club’s only confirmed injured players at the moment are wingers Emil Hansson and Scott Wright. Long-term absentee Alfie Chang is currently unavailable for League One matches having not been named in the squad that was submitted at the end of the summer transfer window.
There is some doubt over midfielder Luke Harris going into this weekend’s game against Shrewsbury Town after he was forced to withdraw from Wales’ camp due to illness. A brief statement on Wales’ official X account said: “Luke Harris has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming matches due to illness.”
