The pair married on November 16, 2017 and celebrated their anniversary on Saturday.

Serena Williams‘ husband posted an emotional message to social media as he celebrates his anniversary with the tennis star and reflects on how their lives have changed since they tied the knot back in 2017.

Alexis Ohanian, known for founding Reddit, popped the question to the 23-time Grand Slam winner before they married a year later when shortly after she birthed their daughter, Olympia. Since then they have grown their family too with another daughter named Adira, who arrived in 2023.

And now they are launching shared business ventures in the hopes of setting their two children up in life as well as fulfilling their own moral commitments to the values of women’s sports, highlighting how things have changed since they first met, something he reflected on.

“7 years ago today, we got married here,” Ohanian posted to Instagram. “Now we get to bring these two for beignets. Happy Anniversary. Thanks for giving me the two greatest humans we’ve ever met.

He even added a photo of the couple from when they got married in New Orleans as they exchanged their vows.

And it seems this is a regular thing on his mind, as he mirrors his loving 2023 social media post where he said he is striving to be the best person he can possibly be for his young family.

“How did 6 years and 2 kids go by so fast??,” Ohanian posted to X.com, formerly Twitter, in 2023. “I’m trying to be a better man every day.

Serena doesn’t hide her love for her husband either and regularly celebrates his successes online as the pair continue to find their footing as parents with two young children to look after in the world.

And she posted about his qualities as a father online when they celebrated his birthday with a photo from a trip to New Orleans as they all dressed up for Olympia’s birthday.
