Deal finalized: Dodgers Sign Former NL West Reliever to Minor League Deal…

The Dodgers invited Jacques, 29, to the team’s big-league camp next spring. The left-hander pitched in 25 major league games with

the Boston Red Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks in the last two seasons. Jacques has a 5.46 ERA in his major league career, recording

22 strikeouts and one save through 29.2 innings.

Jacques was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2018. The left-hander was drafted in the 33rd round that year, but didn’t make his

major league debut until 2023 with the Red Sox.

In 2024, he pitched in one game for Boston before he was placed on waivers. The Diamondbacks claimed Jacques and the reliever was

sent to Triple-A Reno. He spent the majority of the 2024 campaign in Triple-A.

Pitching for the Reno Aces, Jacques tossed 37.2 innings and posted a 4.30 ERA. The left-hander didn’t perform well in his one major

league outing in Arizona. Against the San Diego Padres on July 5th, Jacques pitched 1.1 innings and gave up two runs, three hits, and a

walk.

Jacques allowed his first home run at any level against the Padres. Later in July, the reliever was designated for assignment and

returned to Triple-A Reno. After just two games in the big leagues, Jacques recorded an ERA of 9.00 through 3 innings pitched in

2024.

The Dodgers will likely use Jacques as a depth reliever. The Dodgers are known for transforming struggling pitchers and could very

well help Jacques reach the next level throughout his time with the organization.
