Tevaga, 29, has logged 138 first-grade games for the Auckland club, since his debut in 2016, and was named inaugural NRL Interchange Player of the Year in 2018, as he became a specialist impact performer off the bench.
He logged 19 games during the 2024 campaign, but was told he would be extended past this season.
The Daily Telegraph reports Tevaga has agreed to a one-year deal at Brookvale Oval, where he will replace former Warriors teammate Karl Lawton, who is heading to North Queensland Cowboys.
“Obviously, when I had to conversation with the club, it was a pretty hard pill to swallow,” Tevaga told NZME. “I was pretty emotional for a couple of weeks, but I’m excited to finish strongly with the boys.
“I always thought I would be a one-club man. It’s hard to see myself playing for another club, because I’ve been here for so long, but that’s just the way it is — it’s business.”
The Warriors will lose several established players off their roster, with veteran half Shaun Johnson retiring and front-rower Addin Fonua-Blake moving to Cronulla Sharks, but have secured NZ Kiwis prop James Fisher-Harris from Penrith Panthers.
They have also found a like-for-like replacement for Tevaga in Gold Coast utility Erin Clark, who began his career in the Warriors junior ranks and played a single first-grade game, before moving across the Tasman.
