Sad news Washington Husky announced departure of six players

College football transfer portal tracker: Washington QB Will Rogers opts to stay after Kalen DeBoer’s Washington Husky exit

Washington lost Kalen DeBoer this offseason, but it won’t lost quarterback Will Rogers.

Rogers, who transferred to the Huskies in December after four years at Mississippi State, announced Tuesday he would remain in Seattle after entering the transfer portal.

Rogers’ decision is an early win for new head coach Jedd Fisch, whom Washington hired from Arizona earlier this month. With starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. out of eligibility and heading to the NFL, Washington had tapped Rogers as the heir apparent under center. Rogers was even in attendance in a Washington uniform for the College Football Playoff championship game.

Rogers left Starkville as the No. 2 player on the SEC’s all-time passing leaderboard and first in completions. He missed a large chunk of last season with a shoulder injury.
