The 17 players set to leave Leigh Leopards as things stand
Leigh Leopards are currently making a playoff charge following their 26-0 win over Salford Red Devils at Magic Weekend and it could be the last time plenty of the squad play together with 17 set to leave at the end of the season.
Adrian Lam’s side looks set to lose some of their biggest and best stars, however, it seems they will hold on to Lachlan Lam which is a massive boost to their aspirations in 2025.
They have also confirmed the signing of young NRL full-back David Armstrong with the Newcastle Knights speedster set to arrive on a multi-year deal.
For now though, the Leopards are focused on making the top six for the second year in a row but it will be no mean feat as they sit seventh, three points outside of the playoffs.
They may have to win all five of their remaining games to do so to ensure that this team gets another shot at silverware before it is torn apart next year. Below are the 17 players Leigh Leopards are currently set to lose.

Incredibly, four of the six who will leave are heading to Hull FC with one of those players already with the Black and Whites after agreeing to a loan deal until the end of the season.
That man is Ed Chamberlain but in 2025 he’ll be joined by Zak Hardaker, Oliver Holmes and John Asiata, with the confirmed exit of the captain back in May sparking a huge reaction from Leigh’s owner Derek Beaumont.
In Hardaker and Asiata, Leigh lost two of their star players from their 2023 campaign and another two of those will head to the NRL with Tom Amone and Kai O’Donnell both agreeing to deals down under.
Amone will join Canterbury Bulldogs and has been hailed as the ‘best forward in Super League’ by Bulldogs’ chief Phil Gould, whilst O’Donnell is set to move to North Queensland Cowboys.
Three of those six players are overseas talents and a further two are off-contract in Ricky Leutele and Ben Nakubuwai. Recently, Leutele has been linked with a return to Huddersfield Giants whilst Nakubuwai is currently on loan at Featherstone Rovers.
Other first-team members who are out of contract include Jack Hughes, who has recently been deputising in the halves, and the recently recalled Keanan Brand who replaced Josh Charnley in the side at Magic Weekend.
The remaining seven players have made just two appearances in Super League this season with Lewis Baxter responsible for both of those. That leaves Nathan Wilde, Tom Nisbet, Jacob Gannon, Jack Darbyshire and Kavan Rothwell as six more whose deal expires.
Presently, just David Armstrong has been signed for 2025 but it was reported over the weekend that Leigh are in for Dolphins centre Tesi Niu meaning that they’ll have two quota spots available to help rebuild their squad.
