Leicester Tigers release six more players as Steve Borthwick overhaul continues
The list includes a record-breaking Tiger and an international fly-half
Scrum-half Ben White tops the latest list of players confirmed to be leaving Leicester Tigers this summer.
White became the youngest player to appear in the Premiership for Leicester Tigers when he featured against Harlequins in September 2016, aged only 17 years and 151 days.
Now aged 23, White has gone on to make 71 appearances for the club, but the emergence of Jack van Poortvliet and the experienced duo of Ben Youngs and Richard Wigglesworth limited him to just two starts and nine appearances in total during the 2021/22 season.
Front-rowers Ryan Bower and Darryl Marfo, and back-rowers Jordan Coghlan and Sam Lewis are among the forwards who will leave at the end of June.
Argentina fly-half Joaquin Diaz Bonilla will also depart.
Tigers have already announced during the season that Tomás Lavanini (Clermont Auvergne), Luan de Bruin (Edinburgh) and Johnny McPhillips (Carcassonne) will leave the club after agreeing deals elsewhere for the 2021/22 season and Zack Henry was granted an early release from his deal to join Pau.
The announcements continue the overhaul of the Tigers squad which took place during the season as Blake Enever, Facundo Gigena, Jake Kerr, Shalva Mamukashvili, Jordan Taufua and Luke Wallace were allowed early releases and Tom Hardwick also left in March of this year.
Tigers players not involved in international squads, who remain on contract with the club beyond June 30, are now on their off-season break ahead of a return to the Oval Park training base in mid-July.
