DISCIPLINARY: Leigh Leopards lose key man ahead of Wire fixture
ONE of Leigh Leopards’ star players has picked up a suspension and will not be available to face Warrington Wolves.
Threatening ball-playing front-row forward John Asiata has received a one-match sanction from the RFL disciplinary Match Review Panel after they studied video evidence of an incident in Sunday’s 32-12 win at London Broncos.
He is deemed to have committed Grade C dangerous contact.
No Warrington Wolves players have picked up any bans from their win against Castleford Tigers on Friday.
Luke Yates was sin-binned for a high tackle in that game but is clear to face Leopards at Leigh Sports Village on Friday, kick-off 8pm.
Following the latest round of Betfred Super League fixtures, the Match Review Panel have issued the following sanctions:
Kelepi Tanginoa (Hull KR) – Grade B Dangerous Contact – £250 Fine
Elliot Minchella (Hull KR) – Grade B Trips – £250 Fine
James Batchelor (Hull KR) – Grade B Dangerous Contact – 1 Match Penalty Notice (Higher End)
Tommy Makinson (St Helens) – Grade D Head Contact – 3 Match Penalty Notice and £250 Fine
Patrick Mago (Wigan Warriors) – Grade B Dangerous Contact – £250 Fine
John Asiata (Leigh Leopards) – Grade C Dangerous Contact – 1 Match Penalty Notice
Rob Butler (London Broncos) – Grade B Dangerous Contact – £250 Fine
