Warriors re-sign three fast improving key players through to end of 2024 NRL season

New Zealand Warriors forward Josh Curran has re-signed for a further two years, keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2023 NRL season.

The 22-year-old has been at the Warriors since 2019 but struggled for game time, but has played six games this season under Nathan Brown when not sidelined by injury.

The new coach was full of praise for the lock and said he is starting to show his potential at NRL level.

“Josh is a player of immense talent who is starting to deliver on the promise he has shown since his junior days,” he said.

“He’s worked hard on his game and has shown with the right commitment he is an NRL player.

“He now needs to build on his performances this year and establish himself as a NRL starter.

“That’s his challenge and he will decide how good an NRL player he will be, which is exciting for everyone at the club.”

The extension for Curran comes as the Warriors have re-signed a host of important players for 2022 and beyond.

Tohu Harris , Bunty Afoa, Jazz Tevaga, Adam Pompey and Rocco Berry have all prolonged their stay at the club, while new arrival Reece Walsh is signed until the end of 2024.

Warriors recruitment officer Peter O’Sullivan echoed the sentiments of Brown and said Curran has earned his new deal.
