A devastated Foo Fighters fan says she will cherish the recent memory of seeing the band in Geelong after hearing their drummer had died.
A Foo Fighters mega fan who has seen the rock band perform live more than 10 times and had a song dedicated to her is among many people left devastated by the shock death of drummer Taylor Hawkins.
The prolific US rock band announced on social media that their beloved drummer had died aged 50, saying they were “devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins”.
“His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever,” the band said.
“Our hearts go out his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”

Taylor Hawkins has died while the Foo Fighters are on the South American leg of a world tour – which was scheduled to land at UK stadiums this summer.

The US group – one of the most successful rock bands of the last three decades – said they were “devastated”.
“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the band tweeted.
“His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.
“Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”
