Flanagan’s Dragons clean-out begins as Knights farewell ten in big shake-up

Shane Flanagan’s clean out of the Dragons has begun with with three players set to leave the club, including forward Jaidyn Hunt, who was given an early release to sign a two-year deal with Brisbane.

There has also been movement at the Knights with Lachlan Fitzgibbon, Lachlan Miller and Adam Clune are all heading to the Super League from 2024 while winger Dom Young will link up with the Roosters.

The Warriors have confirmed forward Bayley Sironen will not be extended beyond this season while young prop Valingi Kepu will also depart the club at the end of the year.

The duo’s departure was confirmed at the Warriors’ end-of-season awards night on Monday, where the club acknowledged both departing and departed players.

Ben Murdoch-Masila, who has since linked up with the Dragons, was acknowledged as was Viliami Vailea — who is off to the Cowboys on a two-year deal.

Taniela Otukolo and Otukinekina Kepu, who were NRL squad members before being released at the start of the year, were also thanked for their contributions to the club.

While the Dolphins will welcome a number of handy additions next year in the form of Herbie Farnworth and Tom Flegler, the NRL newest’s club will say farewell to at least four players including Herman Ese’ese.
