Newcastle Knights officially announced the signing of a great player

Newcastle Knights confirm signings of English duo

NRL club Newcastle Knights have signed young English duo Will Pryce and Kai Pearce-Paul on two-year contracts from the 2024 season.

England Knights international Pryce has scored 11 tries and kicked 56 goals in 27 appearances for Huddersfield since making his first team debut in 2021.

The 20-year-old is the son of former Great Britain and England great Leon Pryce. He is comfortable playing at full-back or half-back.

Pearce-Paul, meanwhile, came through the ranks at hometown club London Broncos. He made the move to Super League giants Wigan ahead of the 2020 season, making 38 appearances in total.

The 6ft 5in back-rower or centre made his international debut for England’s senior side at the World Cup. He played in their 94-4 win over Greece.

Newcastle Knights boss delighted to secure services of England’s rising stars

Knights director of football Peter Parr said: “These are important signings for the Knights.

“We are very excited to be able to attract two of the brightest young talents from Super League to join our club.

“We believe both players have a skillset that will make an impression on the National Rugby League once they arrive.”

Pryce and Pearce-Paul will relocate to Australia at the end of the 2023 Super League season. They will link up with the Knights for pre-season 2024 once they have fulfilled their current commitments with Huddersfield and Wigan respectively.

The duo will join a number of England internationals in the NRL in 2024 – Tom Burgess (Rabbitohs), Dom Young (Knights), Luke Thompson (Bulldogs), Herbie Farnworth (Broncos), Josh Hodgson (Eels), Ryan Sutton (Bulldogs), Elliott Whitehead (Raiders), Oliver Gildart (Dolphins) and Victor Radley (Roosters).
