NOAH LYLES WITHDRAWS FROM 2024 MONACO DIAMOND LEAGUE: FULL SCHEDULE AND HOW TO WATCH TRACK AND FIELD EVENTS LIVE
Reigning men’s 100m and 200m world champion Noah Lyles announced on Wednesday (10 July) that he would not be competing at the Diamond League series athletics event in Monaco this week.
The Olympic bronze medallist in the 200m is yet to compete in the Diamond League in 2024, and had been set to run the same distance at the Stade Louis II in Monaco on Friday, as he targets a sprint double at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
But Lyles announced in a statement that he and his team “have decided to spend an extra week at our training base in Florida before traveling to Europe. I’ll miss competing there on Friday, but I look forward to returning to race in Monaco next year.”
In his first outdoor race in Europe, he was set to line-up against Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo, Ivorian Cheickna Traore (19.93), and American Courtney Lindsey.
The world 100m silver medallist Tebogo and Lindsey share the second fastest time over the distance this season of 19.71 from their close finish at the 2024 Kipchoge Keino Classic in Nairobi.
Here’s how you can watch the action from Monaco on 12 July.
