The senior from Croatia announced her decision on social media, posting photos with coach Geno Auriemma in a convertible and writing, “Peace out, UConn Nation.” “I’ll miss you so much!”

This season, the two-time Big East defensive player of the year averages 7.2 points and 6.8 assists per game.

Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd, and Aubrey Griffin, three other Huskies who could have ended their college careers after the season, had previously announced their intention to return.

Senior forward Aaliyah Edwards has an extra year of eligibility but has yet to announce her plans.

Bueckers said Friday that she had been jokingly encouraging Muhl and Edwards to stay with her for another year.

“I want the best for them,” she said. “We simply try to enjoy every moment that we have. Even if it’s just hanging out at the hotel or in the apartment, we’re making sure that no minute is wasted and that we’re enjoying every moment we have together.”

The ninth-ranked Huskies (26-5) are the Big East tournament’s top seed, facing No. 9 Providence (13-19) in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
