The Tennessee Volunteers held on to defeat Texas A&M 6-5 on Monday night, winning the College World Series. It is the first in program history for the Vols.
It all began with Christian Moore’s leadoff home run – a shot to left field – which got the Tennessee faithful (which included Peyton Manning, Rick Barnes, Josh Heupel and Morgan Wallen) rocking early.
A&M scored two in the ninth inning – and brought the tying run to the plate – but Aaron Combs struck out the final two batters to end things and bring a title to Rocky Top.
