Defender thanks fans as he announces his departure from Motherwell.
Bevis Mugabi, known as the “Ugandan Prince,” has left Fir Park after five years there.
Bevis Mugabi has announced his departure from Motherwell after failing to agree on a new contract with the club.
The Ugandan international was one of five players offered new contracts last month when the Fir Park club announced their summer departures.
Mugabi, 29, said in a statement: “After five years, my time at Motherwell has ended.
“It’s been a pleasure to share a changing room with all of the players over the years.
“I’d like to thank all of the managers I’ve played under and the staff who have kept the club running smoothly in the background.
“Most importantly, I want to thank the fans for making Motherwell feel like my home away from home. “Your unwavering support for me and the club has been invaluable during both positive and negative times.” I’m extremely grateful to have played over 100 games for this incredible club, which I hold dear!

Alan Burrows, the outgoing Motherwell chief executive, posted an emotional farewell on social media following his final matchday, a 2-0 Premiership victory over Hearts.
Motherwell won back-to-back league games for the first time this season, putting them six points clear of relegation and three ahead of Kilmarnock before they travel to Rugby Park next weekend.
Burrows will leave Aberdeen at the end of February to become chief executive, capping off a 16-year career at the Fir Park club he has supported since he was a child. He had been CEO since 2014.
