James Graham's first starring role against the Aussies - Total Rugby League

Canterbury Bulldogs legend James Graham has returned to his former club to thank them for his years of service.

Graham spoke exclusively to 7NEWS as he reflected on his time at the Bulldogs and recalled a special moment in his international career with England.

Former Bulldogs captain Graham returned to Belmore and the club was on hand as he was presented with a ‘golden cap’ for playing over 50 internationals for England.

In emotional scenes, Graham donated the ‘golden cap’ to his local amateur rugby league club the Thatto Heath Crusaders in St Helens.

Graham was full of praise for the Dogs as he said thank you to the club where he played 135 NRL games.

“I just wanted to say thank you.”

Thatto Heath Crusaders is a club run by volunteers and Graham said their love for the game runs deep.
